Saleboat Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy statement is created by Kusasa Information Systems (Pty) Ltd and includes all the entities listed here (collectively, “Kusasa”, “Saleboat”, “we”, “us” or “our”) and is effective as of the 12th March 2021.

Kusasa owns and operates the sales management service, Saleboat and all related features available through the web at web.saleboat.app as well as on mobile devices including smartphones and tablets. The purpose of this policy is to inform you of how your information is collected, how the information is used, and how you can control how we use the information. This policy applies to all Saleboat websites and mobile applications and all products and services provided by Kusasa through these websites and mobile applications.

 By using our Service, you agree to the terms of this policy and you expressly consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with this policy.

This Privacy Policy is divided into three parts:

1.  Information Collected

Saleboat collects and uses information about website visitors, potential clients, users who contact Saleboat through forms, emails, live chat or phone and  users of products and services.

2. Information Processed or Stored

Saleboat allows for the storage of personal data of third parties. This section defines how this data is managed and remains confidential. This includes any data disclosed via customer support requests.

3. General Privacy

General topics relevant to both part 1 and 2 including general topics such security commitments and informing users of Privacy Policy changes.

1. Information Collected

Registration: Upon registration, we ask you to provide certain information, which includes your name, email address, billing information (the “Registration Data”), as well as a password for your account. This information is used to authenticate your access to the platform and allows you to maintain control over your account.

Payment processing: You may choose to make use of our payment processing services, your name, contact information, and credit card information would be collected for this purpose. For quick processing of future payments, if you have given us your approval, we may store your credit card information or other payment information in an encrypted format in the secured servers of our Payment Gateway Service Providers. Payment information is stored to allow for a seamless billing experience so as not to interrupt your application usage.

Technical Information: Saleboat may collect certain technical information through the use of log files and servers. Web and application servers create log files automatically as part of their setup and configuration. Information in a log file may include IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, date/time stamps, Media Access Control (MAC) address, and other usage information and statistics. This information is collected to assist with support and troubleshooting of any issues which arise with the application.

Device Information: If you access and use the Service from a computer, mobile phone, tablet, or other electronic device, we may collect information about those devices. For example, our servers receive and store information about your computer and browser, including your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, and other related software or hardware information. If you access the Service from a mobile phone, tablet, or other electronic device, we may collect and store information such as device type, operating system version and type. This information is used to better understand user usage and create the best possible experience on each device.

Location Information: Saleboat collects location information from devices you use during the normal operation of the application. Depending on the device and operating system, device-based location information may be derived from GPS and nearby wireless signals such as cell towers, Wi-Fi networks, and Bluetooth beacons. We will not collect your device-based location information unless you have permitted the Saleboat app to access location services on your device. You can disable this access at any time in your system settings. Additionally, in some cases, your location within a geographic block may be approximated from the IP address currently assigned to your device. Location data is a core function of the Saleboat application and allows users to keep track of where meeting events occur, where clients and prospects are physically located and allows managers to check the location of users, provided they have the appropriate permissions to do so and it is within the user’s allotted work days/hours..

Information You Provide to Us: You have the ability to provide a variety of information during your interactions with us, such as emails you may send us, support you request,  ads you respond to, and emails or newsletters that you sign up to receive. Saleboat as well as third parties acting on our behalf receive data from you whenever you provide us with information.

Information Provided By Third Parties: If someone has referred any of our products or services to you through any of our referral programs, that person may have provided us your name, email address and other personal information. You may contact us to request that we remove your information from our database. If you provide us information about another person, or if another person gives us your information, we will only use that information for the specific reason for which it was provided to us.

Information from social media sites and other publicly available sources: When you interact or engage with us on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram through posts, comments, questions and other interactions, we may collect such publicly available information, including profile information, to allow us to connect with you, improve our products, or better understand user reactions and issues. Once collected, this information may remain with us even if you delete it from the social media sites.

2. Information Processed or Stored

Some features of our Service require you to provide personal information about another person or entity. By providing another’s personal information to us, you confirm that you have all necessary rights and permissions to provide such information. If you choose to provide this information, we may store and use the information for purposes of providing you with the app functionality.  We will only use this information for the specific reason for which it was provided or for security purposes, such as to prevent fraud. If you believe that one of your contacts has provided us with your personal information and you would like to request that it be removed from our database, please contact us at [email protected]

Ownership and control of your data: We recognize that you own your data. We provide you complete control of your data by providing you the ability to access your data, share your data through supported third-party integrations, and request export or deletion of your data.

How we use data: We process your data when you provide us instructions through the various means within Saleboat. For example, when you create a new prospect, information such as the name and address of your customer will be used to create the prospect; and when you create a meeting, the details of the prospect will be used to generate the meeting.

Push notifications: If notifications are enabled for our mobile or web applications, we will push notifications through the appropriate push notification channel. For example, a notification on your android device to remind you of an upcoming meeting. You can manage your push notification preferences or deactivate these notifications by turning off notifications in your device settings.

Employees and independent contractors: We may provide access to your data to our employees and individuals who are independent contractors.  These entities involved in providing the services are provided access for the following purposes: identify, analyze and resolve errors or provide support to you.  We ensure that access by our employees to your service data is restricted to specific individuals, and is logged and audited. Our employees will also have access to data that you knowingly share with us for technical support or to import data into our products or services. We communicate our privacy and security guidelines to our employees and strictly enforce privacy safeguards within Saleboat.

Collaborators and other users: Saleboat allows you to collaborate with other users or third parties. Initiating collaboration may enable other collaborators to view information you specifically give them access to. For example, adding another user to a meeting would allow that user to see personal information about the entity with whom the meeting is created.

Third-party integrations you have enabled: Saleboat supports integrations with third-party products and services (e.g. Google Calendar Integration). If you choose to enable any third-party integrations, you may be allowing the third party to access your personal information and your stored data. We encourage you to review the privacy practices of these third-party services before you enable integrations with them.

Retention of information: We hold the data in your account as long as you choose to use Saleboat. Once you terminate your Saleboat  account, your data will be deleted from the Saleboat active database within 6 months and removed from backups thereafter

Third party service providers: Saleboat makes use of third parties to perform several specialised functions. This includes live chat and ticketing, transactional email and data analytics. Please review the following privacy policies on how data is handled by these organisations:

3. General Terms

Children: Our products and services are not directed to individuals under the age of majority (18). Saleboat does not knowingly collect personal information from children and registration is not intended for use by children.  If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please email [email protected] with the details, and we will take the necessary steps to delete the information.

Security: We have taken steps to implement appropriate administrative, technical & physical safeguards to prevent unauthorized access, use, modification, disclosure or destruction of the information you entrust to us. Location: By accessing or using our products and services or otherwise providing personal information or data to us, you consent to the processing, transfer, and storage of your personal information or Data within South Africa, the European Economic Area (EEA) and other countries where Saleboat operates.

External links on our websites: Some of our services may contain links to websites that are not linked to this Privacy Policy. If you submit your personal information to any of these third-party sites, your personal information is governed by their privacy policies. As a safety measure, we recommend that you not share any personal information with these third parties unless you’ve checked their privacy policies and assured yourself of their privacy practices.

Legal disclosures: We may be required by law to preserve or disclose your personal information and data to comply with applicable law in a region we operate or in a region where you make use of Saleboat based on, regulation, legal process or governmental request, including to meet national security requirements.

Enforcement of our rights: We may disclose personal information and data to a third party if we believe that such disclosure is necessary for preventing fraud, investigating any suspected illegal activity, enforcing our agreements or policies, or protecting the safety of our users.

Business Transfers: We do not intend to sell our business. However, in the unlikely event that we sell our business, are acquired or merge with another business; we will ensure that the acquiring entity is legally bound to honor our commitments to you. We will notify you via email or through a prominent notice on our website of any change in ownership or in the uses of your personal information and data. We will also notify you about any choices you may have regarding your personal information and data.

Compliance with this Privacy Policy: We make every effort, including periodic reviews, to ensure that personal information you provide is used in conformity with this Privacy Policy. Notification of changes: We may modify the Privacy Policy at any time, upon which you will be notified through an announcement or by an email sent to your primary email address. If you think that the updated Privacy Policy affects your rights with respect to your use of our products or services, you may terminate your use by sending us an email within 30 days. Your continued use after the effective date of changes to the Privacy Policy will be deemed to be your agreement to the modified Privacy Policy.
